31 Dec Approaching A New Year – 2 0 1 4
2014 is here already. Wow. If you are anything like me, you are asking, where did 2013 go? I think we can all agree 2013 was a year of transition and building, a year of getting things into alignment. Now, staring 2014 in the face feels as though things are locked into place. As momentum was built throughout 2013, 2014 is only going to build upon that. Step by step, brick by brick, ground will be taken and Kingdom established.
In order to take that ground and establish domain I believe the Lord is saying we have to be BRAVE. I have been hearing this word for months now and everywhere I turn, there it is. Songs, conferences and movies are bearing this title. It is appearing on jewelry, art and many other things. Each time I see or hear the word ‘BRAVE‘ I get a ‘ping’ in my spirit. I feel the Lord nudging me to take notice, not to let the moment slip by without acknowledging what He is saying about being BRAVE.
The word BRAVE means “one who is ready to face and endure danger or pain; showing courage. A person who shows courage or a fighting spirit. To endure or face unpleasant conditions or behavior without showing fear. Synonyms of BRAVE would be courageous, valiant, heroic, lionhearted, bold, fearless, gallant, daring, audacious, unflinching, unshrinking, unafraid, spirited, gutsy and spunky.”
There is a picture in the spirit of how I see BRAVE. I see a warrior dressed in full armor with their jaw locked, in ready position, with an undivided focus. Their gaze is penetrating, never taking their eyes off the victory. Nothing is distracting them. They are fierce, they are fearless, they are BRAVE. Their trust in God is unwavering, and they laugh at any attempt of the enemy knowing he doesn’t stand a chance. Their confidence in the Lord is unprecedented and no matter what comes their way they are ready to STAND knowing by merely standing, they defeat the enemy.
Please do not be intimidated by this picture, rather, be encouraged. This is what I feel like the Lord is making available to you and I! Becoming BRAVE happens by being saturated in who HE is, which in turn teaches you who you are through Him. It is so important in 2014 that we are daily connecting with the Lord in order to keep in clear sight and understanding just how GREAT, GOOD, FAITHFUL, FEARLESS, SURPREME, VICTORIOUS HE is.
This is a year the Lord wants you to grab ahold of your full identity like never before. You cannot be BRAVE and be a victim. You cannot be BRAVE and be a people pleasure. You cannot be BRAVE and be insecure. I could go on, but I think you get the point. The Lord is saying it is time to live your life without fear, without hindrance. Imagine living your life without fear. What would that look like for you? That my friend, is what is available to you. And that is the life He wants you to live–now. Not tomorrow, not next year, but at this moment for this time. God is raising up a new breed of BRAVE warriors that will stand and will not cower. Understanding who He is gives us the courage.
There is more that I believe the Lord is speaking for 2014 and that will all be released when it is time. But, for the moment, I felt the Lord just wanted us to marinate on this word, to give it our full attention and reflection. I believe the Lord is imparting BRAVERY into His sons and daughters. With this impartation BRAVE sons and daughters are arising and will discover where they have been fearful before and they will now become FEARLESS. Bring on 2014.
