Understanding the anointing of God. What is the anointing and how get more of it?

It is a “putting on” of leadership authority.
Jesus is developing in us character and obedience. We can’t have authority without being under his authority.

Carrying the Spirit of God. The anointing is Him. God is the anointing.

God gives us power to do the things he has asked us to do. Are we doing what God asked us to do or just good ideas? There are all types of good ideas but what is God saying we should do?
We can tell at times when we step into something carried by the Spirit we everyone can just tell.

We call it a “pool” when we sense there are areas of greater presence and anointing.
“Anointing carries its own reality.”
The two realities of the anointing and the natural are like different dimensions.

Character is crucial but different from the anointing. We have to allow God to work in us which is key to bringing holiness in us.

There is no shortcuts to intimacy with God. We are taping into and wired to work out our salvation and operating in our gifts and calling.
You carry kingdom. It’s how you walk it and you are connected to Jesus in the walking that out to be more like him.
What about millennial generation and the entitlement attitudes
We want them to be empowered but we want people to be humbled because their not the source, Jesus is.

Christi Smith tells a story of being called by God to just pray for a month straight.
God wanted her to die to to many things in her abilities.
Did it deepen the anointing and intimacy? “I am just constantly aware of his work in me.”
Bethany Marks explains what walking out the anointing is for the common person. Get away and be with God to discern what is inside us which often comes from God.
Can we trust the inside voice? Do we know it’s God?
You have to believe that it’s him when he talks and you’re not sure that is. When we come to him wanting to learn, the scriptures talk about how the Holy Spirit (anointing) will teach you all things. John 14:26.
Acts 19 – Disciples didn’t know there was a Holy Spirit.
Herb: When I pray in the Spirit I can get a sense of the will of God. I’m discovering his presence. It’s like practicing his presence.
What does it feel like, taste like, smell like.
I gave God an hour and after a while I began to know the agenda of God and his heart in that season.
